Celestine " Sally" Svoboda, 100, of David City , widow of Joseph, died Wednesday, September 18 at Bryan Medical Center East in Lincoln. Memorials: In Care of the Family Sally was born in Garrison Nebraska on June 29, 1919. She completed high school at Dwight Assumption, attended teachers college at Kearney and worked in a medical dispensary in Denver. Sally and Joe were married on February 16, 1942 at Holy Trinity Church in Brainard. They moved to New York City before Joe was deployed for WWII. Sally then returned to the Butler County Area, where Joe joined her after the war.They were farmers, raising cattle and milking cows. She delighted in her grandkids, attending their activities and events. Sally was a card player, enjoying Pitch and Darda with family and friends. She was an avid sports fan, especially loving Nebraska Football. A few years after Joe’s death in 1988, Sally moved to David City where she was involved at the Butler County Senior Center and St. Mary’s Church and PCCW. Sally was preceded in death by her parents, Fredrick and Josephine (Coufal) Kudlacek; and her two brothers and sisters-in-law, Arthur and Adeline Kudlacek; and William and Daisy Kudlacek; and great-grand daughter Colbie Hermelbracht. She is survived by their five children, Roger (Barbara) Svoboda of David City, Chelys (Jack Anderson) of Lincoln, Maureen (Alan) Sutton of Greenwood, Louise (Gary) Niemann, of David City and Jo Anne (Steve) Crandell of Lincoln; 13 grandchildren, 36 great grandchildren, and 8 great-great grandchildren.
